If you are opting engineering as a career then this information is extremely important for you.

SELECTION CRITERIA

Every one who wants to be an engineer thought to get the selection in IIT but now the selection criteria has now totally changed. how ?

Types of exam

See, First of all there will be no AIEEE exam. Now there will be two exams :-
1.MAINS exam and 2.ADVANCE exam.

How these exams are going to be conducted. ?

Every one is allowed to give Mains exam and this exam is going to be conducted on 1st week of april(expected date 7th april).
The toughness level of this paper will be similar to AIEEE paper. So to prepare for this exam you have to study and prepare the questions similar to the Miscellaneous exercise question of our book.
There is a bad new that this exams are going to be held just after finishing our 12th Board exams. Hardly 10 days will left to prepare for these exams..

Now to give next exam you must be under the 20% percentile.OR you can say that you must be lying under top 20% of your own board.
percentile differ from board to board.
it is 78% for CBSE student. Which means that if you are not able to achieve this much % in your exam then you are not able to give the next exam. Moreover, to give the next exam you must be lying in top 1,50,000 rank (Board+Mains).
if you lie with in 20% percentile and in top 1,50,000 rank then you are able to give the ADVANCE EXAM.
The date of this exam is fixed and it is going to be held on 2nd of June.
the toughness level of the paper will be similar to those of IIT-JEE exam. This is going to be tough one.
after all these exams rank will be re-calculated (12th board+MAINS+ADVANCE) and top 1,50,000 are going to be selected in Government collages. FOR IIT YOUR RANK MUST BE IN MINIMUM OF 8,000.

What else if not selected. ?

Every one wants to be selected in good engineering collage and many students are attracted towards IIT. But few intelligent students are selected their. Chances of being selected their is very less even for a school topper.
But what to do if you are not selected in IIT or any other government collage or i should simply say that you are not in top 1,50,000 students and still wants do engineering in a good and reputed collage or Institute then you can apply for BITS which is a well known institute and can get a good placement. There will be separate exam for this and its date is not announced yet.
